…. Her advice to all whose interest lies in pursuing the arts in all forms:

Never give up .
Always listen and look with your heart as well as your mind ,
and let nothing impede your enthusiasm or your passion
towards your art .
Artists are an endangered breed..

Below is the Q&A that Judith Winter participated in with #equinearthour on Twitter:

TFS: How long have you been around horses? Did you always want a career with them?

JW: When my dad used to bring the young, unbroken horses into check them, he would put me up on them when I was about 3. They never seemed to mind and I loved it!
I can’t remember a time where I didn’t want to be with horses. They are like oxygen for me.

TFS: Was your parents always involved with horses?

JW: Not so much my parents directly, but the family in general. We had a Belmont winner in 1964.

TFS: Have you ever created art for a poster for a horse show?

JW: I did for the driving championships at Gladstone and years ago at some Virginia Horse shows.

TFS: Any upcoming art shows/exhibits?

JW: Not in the near future, unfortunately I’ve had to put that on hold. I have of a large amount of commissions which I need to finish 🙂 There are some very interesting projects in the future. But that’s another interview!

I also have a website: www.JudithWidener.com

TFS: Can you tell us more about your style?

JW: I have many ” Styles”, and they keep evolving from painting to painting. It’s very much like telling a story to me. Picasso once said that if an artist commits to one style,
they should be making cookies with a cookie cutter…I’m of that opinion as well.
I suppose you could say my style is that I have many evolving styles:-)

TFS: Are there any artists/people that inspire you with your art, or that you admire for something?
JW: Too many! But my biggest inspirations come from what we call everyday life. A fleeting moment of kindness, or beauty that can so easily go unnoticed,if one is not looking for it. That is why I make myself continue to evolve. This way the progress never stops, because I’m always noticing and learning.

Any wise words for other artists?
JW: Always continue to look and listen with your heart as well as your other senses. Never let anyone or anything crush your passion, your enthusiasm for your art…
And always remember that artists have been given remarkable gifts
they must nurture and cherish .
Very rare gifts indeed.

TFS: What are the ways you find most useful for promoting your art?

JW: I am fortunate to have the most supportive clients, collectors and friends, all of whom are instrumental in helping in many ways. Facebook, and my webpage
Have been very helpful, as are the press releases and interviews such as this:-)
