The Flying Shetlands was first started by equine artist and rider Shya Beth on May 30th, 2014 as the first equine art blog focused on equine art. Her mission is to showcase and highlight unique and exceptional equine art and artists across the globe.
Growing daily, The Flying Shetlands has new articles every Tuesday and Friday. in 2016, she started the Facebook group Art Of The Horse, which now exceeds over 30,500+ members.

Shya Beth is a homeschooled 16 year old who grew up on her family farm in NJ, USA surrounded by horses, nature and art. She always had a crayon, pencil or paint brush in her hand, and now has turned her attention to sculpture. creating life size portrayal of horses in her personal style of styrofoam and denim, her “Blue Jean Horses” have been exhibited around the country at the world’s best equine competitions that draw the world’s best riders to their events.
